How to Open & Edit PSD Files Without Adobe Photoshop

Step 1: Load the File into QuickPsd

Simply navigate to our Online PSD Editor and drag your .PSD file directly into the browser window. Alternatively, select File > Open from the top toolbar.

Step 2: Inspecting and Editing Layers

On the right-hand panel, you will see the complete layer tree just like in native desktop Photoshop:

Toggle Visibility: Click the eye icon next to any layer to hide or show it.
Text Editing: Double-click the thumbnail of any text layer (marked with a 'T') to edit font copy, change typography styles, or adjust kerning and colors.
Rearrange: Click and drag layers up or down to change the stacking order.

Step 3: Replacing Images & Smart Objects

If your PSD uses Smart Objects (common for product mockups and device templates), double-click the Smart Object thumbnail. A new tab will open containing the source graphic. Paste your own screenshot or artwork, hit Ctrl + S (or Cmd + S on Mac) to save the Smart Object, and the master mockup will update automatically!

Step 4: Exporting Your Finished Work

Once your edits are complete, click File > Export as to output your design:

PNG: For transparent logos, icons, and UI components.
JPG: For high-resolution social media posts and photography.
Save as PSD: If you want to keep all layers intact and send the file back to your designer.
